Liverpool defender Rhys Williams has joined Aberdeen on a season-long loan.

The 22-year-old will spend the 2023-24 campaign with the Scottish Premiership outfit after finalising a temporary switch today.

Williams has been with the Reds since U10 level and gone on to make 19 senior appearances – all of which came in 2020-21 as he helped Jürgen Klopp's side secure Champions League qualification.

He spent the first half of last season on loan with Blackpool and has also had stints at Kidderminster Harriers and Swansea City.

Williams' development will now continue at Aberdeen, who finished third in the league in 2022-23 and signed Leighton Clarkson on a permanent transfer from Liverpool earlier this month.
