Kenny Dalglish is hoping for his 200th win as Liverpool manager in all competitions when the Reds face Exeter City in the Carling Cup second round tie at Exeter City on Wednesday night.

Here are all the facts and figures ahead of the game from club statto Ged Rea.

Liverpool's League Cup record: Pld 205 Won 121 Drawn 42 Lost 42.

Currently 60 league places separate Liverpool and League One Exeter.

The teams have only ever met in cup competition. They have been drawn together twice in the League Cup.

The first occasion saw David Fairclough score twice at Anfield in a 2-0 Reds win October 1979.

The last meeting produced a 11-0 aggregate victory for the Reds with Liverpool winning 6-0 in the Second Leg at St James' Park. Dalglish was on the mark in both legs of the Second Round tie in October 1981 with Liverpool going on to win the trophy for the second time.

Liverpool also defeated Exeter in the FA Cup in 1950.

In those four meetings Liverpool have scored 16 goals and conceded just one.

This will be Kenny's first League Cup game as Reds boss since October 1990 when he oversaw a defeat at Manchester United.

Liverpool have won this trophy on a record seven occasions, the last being in 2003.

They have also appeared in the most Finals - 10.

Last season Liverpool lost at home to Northampton (4-2 on penalties) after a 2-2 draw. Milan Jovanovic and David Ngog scored for the Reds but Ngog missed in the shoot-out and though Jonjo Shelvey and Daniel Agger scored Nathan Eccleston missed his.

Liverpool have failed to score in only one of the last 38 matches in the League Cup - when they lost 2-0 at Chelsea in 2007.

Last season was the 5th time Liverpool had been involved in penalty shoot-outs in the League Cup.

They beat Birmingham in the Final in 2001, Ipswich at Anfield in 2002 and in 2004 they overcame Tottenham at White Hart Lane. They also lost away to Wimbledon in 1993.

In major competitive games the Reds have now lost two of 12 shoot-outs.

The Reds biggest away win in the competition came at Stoke (8-0) in November 2000. The second best was the 6-0 at Exeter in October 1981.

Liverpool have scored 14 hat-tricks in this competition with the last coming from Fernando Torres at Reading in a 4-2 win in September 2007.

Pepe Reina has only played one game for Liverpool in the League Cup - a 4-3 home win over Reading in October 2006.

Northampton's shock win at Anfield was only the second time the Reds had ever lost to a team from outside the top two divisions in the League Cup and the first time they had lost to a fourth tier club. In December 1991 Peterborough won 1-0 at London Road.

Liverpool have been eliminated eight times by lower-Division teams in this competition.

They have won just one of their last four games in the League Cup - at Leeds (1-0 Ngog) in September 2009.

Last season Exeter finished 8th in League One, one point off the play-off places, with a 4-0 defeat at Tranmere in the final stages of the campaign proving their undoing. They won seven of their last eight league games.

Jamie Cureton was the club's top scorer with 20 goals - 17 in the league - but he has since left for Leyton Orient.

In this competition last season they went out at the first hurdle losing 3-2 at home to Ipswich Town after extra-time.

Exeter earned a tie with Liverpool after a 2-0 win over Yeovil Town two weeks ago thanks to a debut goal from Guillem Bauza (63 minutes) and in added time Chris Shephard added a second.

Astonishingly this will be the first time Exeter have reached the second round for 18 years.

The last time the Grecians reached this stage, August 1993, they beat Walsall 2-1 on aggregated before falling to Derby in the following round.

Although the club reached the FA Cup 6th Round in 1931 and 1981 they have never gone beyond Round four in the League Cup. They lost 5-1 at Wolves in 1973-74, 2-0 at home to Watford in 1978-79, and 2-0 at Liverpool a year later. In 1989-90 Sunderland beat Exeter 5-2 in a replay.

They held Manchester United in the 2004-05 FA Cup third round at Old Trafford before losing 2-0 in the replay. At the time Exeter were in the Conference.

After 82 years in the Football League, Exeter were relegated to the Conference in 2003 where they played for five seasons before returning to League Two. They were promoted to League One in 2009.

Manager Paul Tisdale has been in charge at St James' Park since the summer of 2006.

The Grecians Director of Football is Steve Perryman who won the League Cup with Tottenham Hotspur in 1970-71 and 1972-73 but was in the Spurs side beaten by Liverpool in the Final in 1982.

Exeter are currently in 22nd place in League One with one point from the opening four games. They drew 0-0 on the opening day at Stevenage but have since lost 0-2 to MK Dons, 1-2 to Brentford (both at home) and 0-1 at Preston last Saturday.

Artur Krysiak saved a penalty from Graham Alexander in last Saturday's defeat at Preston.

Steve Tully was sent off in the game after 23 minutes and will miss this game.

Billy Jones played in this competition against Liverpool three years ago while at Crewe with the Reds winning 2-1 at Anfield.

Daniel Nardiello played four times for Manchester United in the early part of the 2000's - all in cups including once in the Champions League against Maccabi Haifa.

In 1914 Exeter while on a tour of South America became the first club side ever to play against the Brazilian national team.

Scorers this season (League Cup in brackets):

Exeter:  Bauza 2 (1), Shephard 1 (1).
