It was a fine end to the season for Liverpool U23s as they completed their 2017-18 programme with a 3-2 win away at Ajax in a friendly encounter on Saturday afternoon.

Neil Critchley's side played some excellent attacking football and were always in control of the game, leading 3-1 at one stage before the Dutch outfit pulled another goal back.

Glen McAuley and Corey Whelan were on the mark and an own goal completed the scoring for the Reds in Amsterdam.
