Liverpool FC International Academy team DSK Shivajians is delighted to announce the selection of five players for their respective U19 national teams.

Mawihmingthanga, Jedidi Haokip and Lalrinzuala Chhangte will be representing the U19 Indian national team at the forthcoming FAM-FRENZ Asian Champions Trophy.

Rohit Kumar will represent the country at the SAFF U19 Championship 2015 while another representative of the LFC-DSK Academy, Tenzin Shezang, will also participate in the tournament as part of the U19 Bhutan national team.

The Indian contingent at the FAM-FRENZ Asian Champions Trophy will begin its campaign against Felda United FC at Hand Tuah Stadium, Malaysia on Wednesday August 19.

Meanwhile, both Rohit and Tenzin will be involved in the SAFF U19 Championship, which starts on Thursday August 20 in Kathmandu, Nepal.

Shirish Kulkarni, president of the Liverpool FC International Academy – DSK Shivajians, said: “We are absolutely ecstatic with the announcement. It is a moment of great pride for me, as well as everyone at the DSK Group and my colleagues at Liverpool FC.

“In just over a year since the Academy’s inception, we have five players chosen to represent their nation. This proves that professional training, along with world-class facilities like we have at the DSK Dream City, go a long way in development of the player.”

“These players have worked hard throughout the year and deserve their call-ups. I am certain that these boys will make their country proud.”
