Fan Update

Fan Update is the club’s identification scheme which requires fans purchasing tickets to complete ID verification to prove they are a genuine individual.

It is a key tool in tackling ticket misuse and touting. Introduced in 2019, it helps ensure every supporter account belongs to a real person, with one account per fan and accurate personal details. By verifying who is in the stadium, it strengthens security at Anfield and supports a fairer ticket-buying process for all supporters.

We are continuing to evolve our Fan Update process to ensure it provides the highest level of protection against ticket misuse. We are investing in new and improved technology to support the roll out of Fan Update to as many fans as possible with the ambition of ensuring all supporters who are accessing tickets have completed the ID verification process.

Supporters will be contacted when it is their turn to complete Fan Update so contact details need to be kept up-to-date as failure to complete the process by the required deadline will result in their ticketing account being temporarily blocked.

To ensure the highest level of protection against touting, supporters who have previously completed Fan Update may be asked to complete it again.
