Hector Herrera is still on Liverpool’s radar, according to reports in Portugal.

Liverpool monitored the midfielder’s situation in the summer but ended up moving for other targets.

But Portuguese newspaper A Bola reports that Jurgen Klopp is still interested.

Herrera has a £35million release clause and Liverpool would face competition from Napoli.

Klopp is looking for cover for Sadio Mane who is due to take part in the Africa Cup of Nations at the end of January.

He also lost Danny Ings for the season with another ACL injury.

Herrera was also tracked by Manchester United but ended up staying with FC Porto.

However it appears his future could be away from the Liga Sagres club.

The 26-year-old has 46 Mexico caps and joined Porto in 2013 from Pachuca.
