Liverpool are reportedly set to miss out on Raphael Guerreiro after the player agreed personal terms with Borussia Dortmund.

Jurgen Klopp had been hoping to add the Lorient left-back as competition for Alberto Moreno this summer, but it is claimed Guerreiro is now set for a move to the Bundesliga.

According to Bild, Dortmund have finalised a contract with the 22-year-old after having a £12million bid rejected by Lorient.

Alex Hayes, vice president of the Ligue 1 club, claimed last week that Liverpool were among four clubs to make an offer for Guerreiro, but insisted they had not be satisfied with any of the bids.

Although Guerreiro is thought to prefer a move to Dortmund, L’Equipe report that Lorient are keen to start a bidding war, leaving the door open for Liverpool and other clubs.

Arsenal and Barcelona are also reported to be interested in Guerreiro and with the defender entering the final year of his contract, Lorient would prefer to do a deal with a big spending English or Spanish club.

Part of Lorient’s master plan seems to be to stall on a transfer until after the Euros. That is because they are eager to for Guerreiro to put in more performances for Portugal like the one he did against Norway last week.
