Liverpool are reportedly keeping tabs on Schalke star Leroy Sane after the successful capture of team-mate Joel Matip.

The Reds announced yesterday they had agreed a four-year deal with the Schalke centre-back who will join the club on a free transfer in the summer.

"Liverpool Football Club can confirm they have reached an agreement to sign Cameroon defender Joel Matip," a statement read.

"The 24-year-old will join the Reds in the summer following the conclusion of his current deal with FC Schalke."

And it seems Jurgen Klopp's raid on his former rivals isn't over yet with the club keeping a close eye on attacker Sane.

Website Football Insider claims the Premier League club have sent scouts to watch the 20-year-old in action this season.

And a source revealed they are closely monitoring the German international, who has already attracted interest from the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City.

Sane has already been capped by the German first team and is regarded as a player of huge potential in his homeland.

The attacking midfielder has scored six goals for Schalke this term and has five assists in 28 appearances.
