Liverpool head into Saturday's clash with Cardiff City seeking to extend their unbeaten home streak in the Premier League to 26 matches.

Jürgen Klopp's men are currently on the club's best run in the competition since August 2009 when they went 31 games without defeat at Anfield.

The Reds last faced Cardiff in the top flight at L4 during the 2013-14 season, when they won 3-1. A 6-3 triumph in South Wales would follow later in the campaign.

There have been 15 previous league and cup encounters with Cardiff at Anfield and there has yet to be a draw.

In the last 58 years the teams have met as many times in the League Cup (twice) as they have done in the league. The Reds have won all four of those fixtures, with the 2012 League Cup final being decided on penalty kicks.

Mohamed Salah, who netted his 50th goal for the Reds in record time on Wednesday, has scored 32 times in his last 34 Anfield appearances.

LFC's front three of Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino have scored 15 times between them in the Reds' opening 13 games this season. At the same stage of 2017-18 they had recorded a total of 13.

The Reds have scored two more goals (16) and conceded 13 fewer (three) than they had at this stage of last season.

The 16 they surrendered in the opening nine league matches of 2017-18 was their most ever in the Premier League era while the three conceded this season is the fewest in their history.

Cardiff have won just two of the club's total of 23 away fixtures in the Premier League.

Their biggest win at Anfield came in December 1959 when they won 4-0. It was Bill Shankly's first match in charge of Liverpool.

Bluebirds boss Neil Warnock has faced Liverpool six times as a manager in league football. He has won once, with Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park in November 2014 (3-1).

He has lost all four visits to Anfield in league and cup, with Notts County, Sheffield United (twice) and Queens Park Rangers.
