Alberto Moreno insists Liverpool fans deserve to see their team return to the top four and pick up some silverware this season.

The Reds fell just short of adding to their stacked trophy cabinet last term as they suffered defeat at the semi-final stage of both the League Cup and FA Cup.

A bid to secure Champions League football for the second season running also faltered - but Moreno is out to do his utmost to ensure 2015-16 does not see a repeat of those disappointments.

"Our aim is to enter the top four, to return to play in the Champions League, and to win a title," he told Marca.

"Liverpool has gone a long time without winning something, from 2011-12, and that is our dream. The fans deserve it.

"We are a young team, some good players have arrived and, if we combine well, we can achieve beautiful things.

"The Scousers want to win everything!"

Moreno also reflected on his first year at Anfield following a summer 2014 move from his hometown club Sevilla.

The Spaniard admitted that adapting to the intensity of the Barclays Premier League was difficult at times, but believes his debut campaign in England was an overall success.

"[Things are] great. Upon arriving I realised what a great club this is," he continued.

"The first year was difficult because of the language and change in surroundings, but I played 41 games, that is very good for my age at a club the size of Liverpool.

"Perhaps the defensive level [was most hard to adapt to]. This league is very physical, with a lot of up and down. You come up against very quick and incisive players.

"You have to be very careful because if you are not accustomed to it quickly you can come unstuck."
