Two local youngsters were invited to Melwood for a special meet and greet with Georginio Wijnaldum earlier this month, thanks to the LFC Foundation.

Adam Dealaling, 19, and 20-year-old Charlie Eard - who are both participants of the club charity’s Leadership Through Sport and Business (LTSB) apprenticeship scheme - were given the once-in-a-lifetime chance to interview the Reds star as a reward for their outstanding work on the course.

The pair sat down with the No.5 at the training ground, where they spent time chatting about football, career highlights, inspirations and general life advice as well as their involvement with the LFC Foundation and the LTSB scheme.

Adam said: “It’s always been a dream of mine to visit Melwood and meet the players. Gini had some really inspiring advice for us - I’m absolutely ecstatic!”

LTSB’s two-year apprenticeship scheme is designed to help bright youngsters from disadvantaged backgrounds establish high-level careers in business, finance and related fields.
