Liverpool are interested in signing Fiorentina winger Federico Chiesa, according to reports in Italy.

Federico Chiesa has impressed in his breakthrough season at Fiorentina and has made 26 appearances this term, scoring four goals.

The 19-year-old has been rewarded with a new long-term contract, keeping him at the Stadio Artemio Franchi until June 2021.

However, Fiorentina could struggle to keep hold of Chiesa this summer with Liverpool reportedly showing interest in the winger.

Italian outlet GazzaMercato claim the Reds have been tracking the teenager and sent scouts to watch him on Monday night against Torino.

Chiesa played the full 90 minutes in the 2-2 draw and reportedly impressed the Liverpool official.

GazzaMercato reporter Nico Schira added on Twitter: "Liverpool are really interested in right-sided midfielder Federico Chiesa.

"Reds scouts have watched him yesterday [Monday] against Torino."

Liveprool are expected to strengthen their squad in the summer after a faltering second-half of the season.

Chiesa has made 26 appearances for Fiorenitna in all competitions this term, scoring four goals and providing four assists.
