Yaya Toure has put Liverpool on alert after telling friends he will snub a move to Inter Milan to stay in the Premier League.

The Manchester City midfielder, who turns 33 this month, is widely expected to leave the Etihad Stadium this summer as he doesn’t get on with incoming manager Pep Guardiola.

The Ivory Coast international reportedly has an offer from the Italian giants but there is also interest from a number of clubs in the Chinese Super League.

However, the Mirror claim the player intends to stay in England as his family are settled in the north west.

Toure has just over 12 months left on his £220,000-a-week contract and may be willing to take a pay cut to join his brother Kolo at Liverpool.

Whether manager Jurgen Klopp, who has introduced a high pressing game at Anfield, would want him remains to be seen.
