Deal moves closer for Basel striker
Liverpool are edging closer to a deal to sign FC Basel striker Breel Embolo, according to reports.
The 18-year-old was linked with the Reds last week and is one of European football’s hottest prospects at the moment.
Arsenal, Tottenham, Juventus, Barcelona and Wolfsburg are among those linked, but the Daily Mirror says Liverpool are now closing in on him.
The paper adds the deal would be even more likely if Christian Benteke moved to Chelsea from the Anfield club.
A speedy, strong and powerful striker, Embolo has scored eight goals in 23 matches this term and has seven caps for Switzerland.
