Liverpool held secret talks with the representatives of Roma star Alisson on Saturday to discuss a £61million move to the club.

The Reds scouted Alisson a number of times last season and Jurgen Klopp wants the issue resolved before his side return for pre-season.

Alisson started in Brazil’s 2-0 win against Croatia at Anfield on Sunday and Globo Esporte claim Liverpool held talks with his agents the day before.

The goalkeeper is said to have given the green light to the talks and is open to leaving Roma this summer.

Liverpool have already signed Fabinho from Monaco in a £44m deal and Naby Keita is also set to arrive from RB Leipzig.

However, Klopp has money remaining from the Philippe Coutinho deal and Alisson is open to joining the Premier League giants.

Real Madrid are also thought to be interested in the Brazilian but Zinedine Zidane’s resignation has put the club’s transfer business on hold. Roma value Alisson at around £61m.
