Jürgen Klopp hailed the brilliance of Mohamed Salah following his stunning goal in Liverpool's 5-0 victory away at Watford on Saturday afternoon.

The Egyptian netted the Reds' fourth in the win at Vicarage Road when he beat three Watford players before concluding the run with a clinical, curling finish.

Roberto Firmino scored a hat-trick in the Premier League encounter after Sadio Mane had opened the scoring with his 100th top-flight goal.

On Salah's performance and whether he 'looks like Messi' when in this kind of form…

He looks like Mo, actually, and that's really good. He is in a good shape and you are right, the three goals of Bobby were really nice, the 100th Premier League goal for Sadio and all these nice little stories, but you cannot overlook the performance of Mo today. I said it after the game, cut the goal off [and] it was [still] an outstanding performance how he played today. That's really good, very important for us and that's why we can win football games. Yes, the goal was very special, but if you go back a little bit you might find a goal against Watford at home which looks pretty similar to this one. He is obviously the kind of player who can do these kind of things. It's good for us.

On how he would compare Salah's goal today and the recent one against Manchester City…

Why should I compare two world-class goals? I like both and I don't want to miss them, to be honest. They are obviously different goals; the other one is slightly more dynamic, bigger space and stuff like this. Neither of them are possible for people with normal feet like all of us, but it's obviously possible for him and that makes it absolutely special. You could see how the team celebrated the goal, everybody realised immediately it was something special.

On whether Salah is one of the best in the world…

Yeah he is, for sure, one of the best in the world now. It's obviously not for me or whatever to say who is the best. For me, he's the best. I see him every day and that makes it more easy for me, but Mr Lewandowski is out there, Ronaldo still scoring like crazy, Messi still putting out performances on a world-class level, Mbappe and all these kind of things and others will come. But, yes, in this moment he is for sure on top of that list.

On Mane scoring his 100th Premier League goal...

And the special thing is, we should not forget that Sadio Mane – I'm not sure if he scored penalties for Southampton, not that I know – scored 100 goals without a penalty, so that makes a difference for sure. It's a special number, absolutely. He should be and will be, hopefully, proud of that. That doesn't happen for a lot of players. You don't have to talk about Sadio's quality – he's a world-class player as well. It's incredible how good he is. Big day for him, 100 per cent, and I'm really happy for him.

On what Salah is like in training...

He's a top-class professional. He likes training – the physical part of it, the tactical side of it. He's a top, top professional. Yes, he's doing these kind of things in training as well. Our little problem is that we don't have too much time for training, so usually we recover and we don't play. That means we don't see that often in training because we just don't have time for it.

On what has led to Salah becoming the 'best player in the world'...

Nothing. He's for a while already on that level. Of course, he improves, that's good. He is in his age where you can still improve, and he's doing that constantly. You saw the first goal that he set up for Sadio today, that is an outstanding pass. He brought that, I don't know, from the summer break. After that, he started doing these kinds of things. How I said, we don't have hours and hours and hours to train different things. But the boys improve their game by themselves. The consistency he delivers, all this kind of stuff, maybe people just now start seeing it – it was always there. He plays for us, I don't know, for five years now but it's absolutely incredible the way he performs since he's here. He's in the top, top five since he is at Liverpool pretty much. And now he is the best in that moment. The big thing between Cristiano and Messi was that nobody had a doubt about it for years, but Mo is already on the top level for years as well and there's still a lot to come from him because of his desire. He just wants to perform on a top-class level.
