The Liverpool counter-attack exquisitely finished by Mohamed Salah against West Ham United has been nominated for the Premier League's January Goal of the Month award.

The breakaway at London Stadium was started by Andy Robertson’s clearance from a Hammers corner and saw long-range passes by Trent Alexander-Arnold and Xherdan Shaqiri set up Salah in the box.

The No.11 brilliantly controlled the looping ball from Shaqiri and instinctively tucked it beyond the goalkeeper for his and the Reds’ second strike of a 3-1 win.

Salah’s effort is included on the shortlist of eight in the running for the division’s Goal of the Month.

He is up against Eberechi Eze, Kieran Tierney, Bukayo Saka, Tanguy Ndombele, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Marcos Alonso and Patrick Bamford.
