Taiwo Awoniyi scored his second Bundesliga goal of the season when he found the back of the net for Union Berlin on Friday night.

Awoniyi opened the scoring after 20 minutes in the Berlin derby at the Olympiastadion, which ended in a 3-1 victory for Hertha BSC.

Elsewhere across the weekend, Harvey Elliott continued to make an impact for Blackburn Rovers in the Championship.

After scoring a brilliant goal against Millwall in midweek, the 17-year-old followed that up by setting up Joe Rothwell's opener in a 2-2 draw away at Brentford.

Since arriving at Ewood Park midway through October, Elliott has netted two goals and racked up four assists in his 11 appearances.

Also in the division, Harry Wilson and Sheyi Ojo both started for Cardiff City in their 1-0 win away at Watford on Saturday.

In Europe, meanwhile, Marko Grujic came off the bench late on to take part in FC Porto's 4-3 victory over Pako Ayestaran’s Tondela.

But there was defeat for Anderson Arroyo as Salamanca CF UDS were beaten 2-0 away at Zamora on Sunday.
