Jürgen Klopp commended Caoimhin Kelleher after the goalkeeper showcased his rich potential while making his senior Liverpool debut.

Kelleher was part of the Reds’ side that beat MK Dons 2-0 away in the third round of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday, and the Republic of Ireland U21 international met the demands of first-team football with an assured display.

While performing confidently with his feet throughout, the 20-year-old also made a couple of excellent saves in the second half of the tie at Stadium MK - leading to praise from Klopp post-match.

“He’s a wonderful boy and a sensational talent. That’s how it is and the future is bright for him,” the boss told Liverpoolfc.com.

“He’s now growing, not growing size-wise but the muscles are coming step by step. [He’s] a very good footballer, very good with his feet.

“He’s just a very calm person, which helps as well as a goalie, so yeah, a big, big talent, like the others.”
