Fabinho is ready to be called upon as a right-back if Jürgen Klopp chooses to deploy the Liverpool No.3 in the role against Leicester City tonight.

With Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez ruled out due to injury and James Milner suspended, the manager must make a change in the position for the Premier League tie.

“You will have to wait,” Klopp told his pre-match press conference about his considerations for right-back. “But we will play with a right-back or a right wing-back.”

And should Fabinho or Rafael Camacho – who came on to help see out a 4-3 win over Crystal Palace last time out – get the nod, the former is certain they can adapt in suitable fashion.

“Although we’ve got injured players in that position and Millie unavailable, we’ve got other options there with myself and Rafa Camacho,” he says in the official matchday programme.

“We know that we can adapt if needs be and the coach knows that we can play in these positions and that if he needs to call upon us, he can.”
