Trent Alexander-Arnold was tipped to go 'right to the top' after scoring his first goal for England on Thursday night.

The Liverpool right-back powered home the Three Lions’ second in a 3-0 friendly victory over USA at Wembley, becoming the youngest Reds player to net for the country since Michael Owen in 1999.

“Childhood dream: Score at Wembley for England,” Alexander-Arnold later posted on social media, having ticked off another milestone in his remarkable fledgling career.

There will be many more such moments to come, according to former Liverpool midfielder Jamie Redknapp, who believes the Scouser has all the skills to reach the summit of the game.

“He is such a good footballer,” he told Sky Sports.

“The way he passes the ball; a good player passes it with pace and purpose, because they know the quicker you get it to someone, the more time they’ve got. That’s what he does so well.

“It’s effortless for him. He might make mistakes, he might get in the wrong position now and then, but he’s got blistering pace.

“He’s got it all, this young man. From what I can gather, he’s got a level head, a good family around him. He’s going to go right to the top.”
