Our video journey down European Cup memory lane today takes us back to 1984 and an unforgettable final against AS Roma at the Stadio Olimpico.

In his first season as manager, Joe Fagan guided the Reds to a treble of the league championship, Milk Cup and European Cup.

Boasting Brazilian stars Falcao and Cerezo in their ranks, Roma were hot favourites on home turf.

But with players like Graeme Souness, Kenny Dalglish, Alan Hansen and Ian Rush, the Reds were a match for anybody.

It was Phil Neal who gave them a lead, only for Roberto Pruzzo to level the game with a header.

The rest, as they say, is history, as Fagan's men went on to win a dramatic penalty shootout 4-2.

Bruce Grobbelaar did his antics on the goalline and when Francesco Graziani missed his kick, it was left for 1981 hero Alan Kennedy to step up and claim his second winning goal for Liverpool in a European Cup final.
