Fans of Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund have been honoured in the European Club Association's (ECA) 2016 Awards.

The ECA has established a new 'Special Moment' prize in order to commend supporters of both clubs for the 'unique atmosphere characterised by respect and fair play created during the UEFA Europa League quarter-finals in April 2016'.

This award is aimed at 'highlighting the positive side of football', and the ECA has recognised the 'great atmosphere before, during and after' both legs of the unforgettable last-eight tie, which included several joint renditions of 'You'll Never Walk Alone'.

On a famous European night that will go down in Anfield folklore, Liverpool scored three times in the last 24 minutes - including Dejan Lovren's injury-time winner - to overturn a 3-1 deficit and progress to the semi-finals with a remarkable 5-4 aggregate victory.
