LFC's community programme, Red Neighbours, has teamed up with a health and exercise provider to keep over-50s active throughout the current national lockdown.

Healthiness Ltd, which works alongside Red Neighbours at Anfield Sports and Community Centre, delivers exercise classes to help improve physical and mental health and reduce social isolation for those in need across the community.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and government restrictions, communal exercise classes are now being delivered online to keep those in isolation fit, healthy and connected.

Online classes will involve Chair Based Fitness, Better Balance, Postural Stability, Functional Fitness, Pure Tone, Dance and much more.

Healthiness Ltd is offering eight different classes per week, with three live sessions per day – each class lasts approximately forty minutes and can be followed on the not-for-profit organisation’s Facebook page.

Participation is free of charge. However, the organisation encourages a donation to its GoFundMe page in order to ensure that the service can continue.

Classes can be followed by participants in the comfort of their own home with no equipment necessary to get involved.

Forbes Duff, Red Neighbours senior manager, said: “This is a fantastic initiative to keep those in isolation fit and healthy, whilst also providing a social aspect, albeit virtually.

“We would like to encourage all of our activity participants to get involved in order to maintain their physical and mental health during this difficult period.”
