Liverpool FC welcomed 450 schoolchildren to Anfield this week to take part in the largest Safer Internet Day educational event in the UK.

Reds star Dejan Lovren and LFC ambassador Ian Rush attended the event, where they met with the youngsters to discuss the importance of using the internet and technology safely as well as sharing some of their experiences.

“Events like these are so important for raising awareness,” said Lovren. “It’s key for youngsters to understand the dangers of being online but also how they can use technology in a safe, fun and positive way.”

The event, which took place in the Dugout Lounge in the Main Stand, saw the year five and year six pupils take part in an assembly, followed by an interactive workshop and a tour of Anfield before heading back to school.

Safer Internet Day 2020 marked the fifth year in succession that LFC has hosted this educational event at Anfield.
