Hundreds of local residents headed to Anfield on Wednesday for Liverpool FC's annual community carol concert.

Children from local primary schools and Red Neighbours’ walking football team performed a selection of festive songs for the 250-strong audience, which included Reds legend Ian Rush and Liverpool FC Women’s Leandra Little.

A number of meaningful readings were also made by club staff and members of the local community, including the chair of the Hillsborough Family Support Group, Margaret Aspinall.

Pupils from Florence Melly Primary School, St Francis De Sales Junior School and All Saints Catholic Primary School, who created this year’s club Christmas card alongside the first team, were presented with special signed and framed copies of their artwork.
