Red Neighbours embarked on a day of festive caroling in Anfield last week, visiting residents of local sheltered accommodation and care homes.

Along with LFC staff volunteers, the team headed to Abbey Lawns Nursing Home and Thirlmere Court Retirement Living, where they entertained some of the club’s older neighbours with Christmas carols and other festive tunes.

Bill Bygroves, club chaplain at LFC, said: “It’s always fantastic to come and visit our elderly neighbours, particularly at this time of year.

“The Christmas period can be extremely lonely for older people, so it’s a privilege for us to bring them a little festive cheer and deliver some gifts.”

Red Neighbours focuses on four key areas of need in the L4, L5 and L6 areas: creating memorable experiences for young people; encouraging a physically active community; food poverty and education; and support for the elderly community.
