Elderly members of the local community headed to Anfield stadium earlier this week for a special festive Monday club.

The initiative, run by Red Neighbours, looks to tackle social isolation amongst elderly individuals who live on the club’s doorstep.

Once a month, a group of local over 55’s meet for a cup of tea, a chat and a game of bingo.

Alongside their usual fun and games, this month’s get together saw the residents collect items for donation to children’s charity 'CHICS' (Children's Cancer Support Group).

The gifts will be passed on, through the charity, to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital for children who will be in-patients over the festive period.

Monday club runs on a monthly basis and is held in Reds lounge in the Sir Kenny Dalglish Stand at Anfield Stadium. For more information follow @Red_Neighbours on Twitter.
