Liverpool Football Club has invited 5,000 local residents to a VIP family fun day at Anfield Stadium on Saturday August 4.

The exclusive event, called ‘A Big Red Thank You’, is to recognise the extraordinary 2017-18 campaign following the Reds’ run to the Champions League final and acts a thank-you to the club’s Anfield neighbours given the additional home fixtures last season.

LFC is opening the Family Park on Anfield Road, which will be run by the club’s official charity, Liverpool FC Foundation. Their qualified football coaches will be hosting fun activities for all ages, including football skills and drills sessions. There will also be face painting, a bouncy castle and live music performances.

Inside the stadium, there will be the opportunity for local residents to enjoy a tour of Anfield and, on the evening, stay to have a bite to eat and watch a live screening of the friendly with Napoli in hospitality lounges.

This event is free and open to the 5,000 invited neighbours who live around the stadium. It is not open to the public.

Peter Moore, LFC’s chief executive officer, said: “Last season was an extraordinary one, with our successful run in the Champions League bringing plenty of excitement to Anfield.

“We are, however, aware of the impact last season had on our neighbours around the stadium and what the additional fixtures meant for the local area on matchdays. This is our way of thanking our neighbours by inviting them to come and experience the stadium when it’s not hosting a game.

“We hope everyone has a great day at Anfield on us.”
