Local families, totalling 221 parents and children, attended Red Neighbours' free half-term breakfast clubs at Anfield this week.

The 25 local primary schools who work closely with the Red Neighbours team invited families to attend the breakfast club at Anfield, where they were greeted by members of the initiative’s team and club mascot Mighty Red.

After enjoying a delicious breakfast, the families had a chance to win a selection of LFC prizes in a raffle before taking a tour of the stadium.

Margaret Aspinall, chair of the Hillsborough Family Support Group, joined the Red Neighbours team to help serve the food, while also meeting the children and their families.

Food poverty and education is one of the key areas of focus for the Red Neighbours programme, with a variety of activities and events taking place in the local community throughout the year.

The Red Neighbours team centres its activity in and around the Anfield area, creating memorable experiences for young people; supporting the elderly community; and encouraging physical activity throughout the local community.
