Liverpool Football Club has thanked residents and supporters for their contributions and feedback on the first phase of consultation on the proposed Anfield Road expansion.

The consultation closed at midnight on December 13 and received more than 800 responses to the initial plans that were shared across six drop-in events held at Anfield on both matchdays and non-matchdays, and via an online hub.

The events provided local residents and representatives, businesses and fans with an opportunity to view the early-stage plans, talk to those involved in the project, and to share their views.

Andy Hughes, the club’s chief operating officer, said: “The whole aim of sharing these initial proposals was to receive as much feedback as possible.

“The club is committed to finding the best possible solution for the proposed Anfield Road Stand expansion and we’re now in a position where we can consider all of this valuable feedback to develop our plans ahead of our second phase of consultation in the New Year.”

A second stage of consultation is planned in early 2020, where the club will present its detailed plans.
