LFC Foundation | Legends WeekendGallery and Video: Jürgen Klopp and former Reds visit ASCC ahead of LFC Foundation’s Legends game
View our photo gallery from a memorable afternoon at Anfield Sports and Community Centre as Jürgen Klopp and a host of former Reds stars made a special visit to the home of the LFC Foundation.
Klopp, an honorary ambassador for the LFC Foundation, was accompanied by former players Ragnar Klavan, Fabio Aurelio, Yossi Benayoun, Gregory Vignal, Natasha Dowie, Florent Sinama Pongolle, Louise Schillgard and Mark Gonzalez, as they spent the day engaging with participants and learning more about the Foundation’s vital work across the local community and beyond.
The visit offered a unique opportunity for the club legends to see first-hand the impact of the LFC Foundation, which uses the power of Liverpool FC tackle social inequalities in its communities.
During the afternoon, Klopp and the former players met a range of participants, from young primary school children taking part in educational and sports sessions, to senior members involved in the Foundation’s popular walking football programme.
It was a memorable afternoon at ASCC for all involved ahead of Saturday’s Legends clash with Borussia Dortmund Legends at Anfield, which will help raise funds to continue the important work of the club’s official charity.
Funds raised will support LFC Foundation's employability programmes, which help people across the community to find work, gain qualifications and develop new skills through mentoring and training.
The game will also contribute to the Foundation's long-term strategy and its ambition to support 500,000 people a season by 2030.
