Ava Carlson was nominated by LFC Foundation staff member Megan Dykes for her fantastic commitment towards our Emerging Talent Centre programme!

Ava was chosen as a reward for her dedication and progress to make a special visit to Melwood to award Faye Kirby, LFC Women Goalkeeper with the PFA Community Champions award. In turn, Faye awarded Ava with the Champion of the Month April 2026 award.

Ava Carlson has demonstrated exceptional progression throughout her journey within the ETC, developing from the U10s and consistently excelling at every stage of the pathway. Her commitment, discipline, and continuous improvement have recently been recognised with a significant milestone: she has been awarded a two-year Professional Game Academy (PGA) contract with Liverpool U16 Girls, commencing in the 2026/27 season.Over the past two seasons, Ava has played a pivotal role within the U14 squad, contributing not only to numerous team victories but also emerging as a natural leader. She has consistently set high standards, particularly in challenging moments, where her resilience and composure have helped guide and inspire her teammates.Her dedication and achievements have also attracted wider recognition, including involvement in Sky documentaries that highlight her journey, work ethic, and progression into the Professional Game Academy pathway. This exposure reflects both her individual talent and her commitment to continuous development.

Most recently, Ava achieved selection for the England Schoolgirls squad following a highly competitive trial process spanning several months. Competing against top players from leading academies such as Arsenal, Manchester City, and Chelsea, this accomplishment further underlines her ability to perform at an elite level.

Ava’s success is a testament not only to her talent but to her determination, professionalism, and character.
