LFC FoundationChampion of the Month: August 2025
Congratulations to Ibrahim, our Champion of the Month for August 2025!
Ibrahim was nominated by Inclusion Coordinator, Mike Levenson, for his outstanding role as a Volunteer Sports Coach for our SMF Inclusion Programme. Ibrahim plays a pivotal role in development, teamwork, and ensuring personal growth within the sessions he delivers.
Steve Morgan Foundation (or SMF) Inclusion is LFC Foundation Inclusion Department’s evening disability provision, which provides sporting and football opportunities for young people and adults with additional needs and/or disabilities.
Ibrahim coaches young people and adults with additional needs and/or disabilities, specifically at our Adults Physical Impairment Football sessions and our Learning Disability Football sessions. He has grown tremendously as a coach and brings a smile to everyone's face. On the days he is not coaching, he joins on as a participant, being deeply involved in our sessions over the last 5 years.
While Ibrahim’s primary motivation is a passion for the sport and a desire to give back, certain qualities can significantly enhance his effectiveness and impact. He embodies a multitude of strengths at the sessions he volunteers on, and positively shines during the activities.
Ibrahim gives clear instructions, provides feedback, and actively listens to participants' concerns and aspirations. This two-way communication builds trust and ensures that the participants feel understood and supported. He often sets up the sessions on his own and is always coordinating as the session progresses. His strong organisational skills help streamline sessions, allowing more time for direct coaching and interaction with participants.
Ibrahim demonstrates a high level of adaptability - the dynamic nature of sports requires coaches to be flexible. Whether adjusting training sessions due to the different needs of the participants or modifying strategies during a game, his adaptability ensures that the participants remain focused and resilient in the face of challenges.
Upon speaking to Ibrahim about his award, he noted how proud he is to receive this recognition- and how proud his parents are of him.
Ibrahim consistently leads by example and is a pivotal member of our SMF Inclusion Programme - the work he is doing is truly having a vital impact. Congratulations, Ibrahim, and keep up the great work!
