Liverpool FC Women can confirm that Anke Preuss is to leave the club on the expiration of her contract.

The 28-year-old goalkeeper joined the Reds from Sunderland in July 2018 and made a total of 31 appearances during her time at the club.

In a farewell message, Preuss said: "One of the great attributes of this club is its fan base. I just personally want to say thank you to all of you for supporting us throughout the years.

"My time here has ended but I'm proud to have been able to play for you guys. All the best to all the girls for the upcoming season."

Liverpool FC Women manager Vicky Jepson paid tribute to the departing goalkeeper.

She said: "Myself and all our backroom staff would like to thank Anke for the professional, hard-working attributes she brought to our team over the last two years.

"I'm sure all our LFCW fans will join me in thanking Anke for her time at the club and wish her the best of luck for the future.”
