Liverpool have reportedly informed Bayern Munich that they have no intention of meeting their €30million (£27.2m) asking price for Thiago Alcantara this summer.

Thiago has won seven Bundesliga titles on the spin since swapping Barcelona for Bayern Munich back in 2013 and talks were progressing well over an extension at the Allianz Arena, with his current contract due to expire in less than 12 months’ time.

However, Thiago had second thoughts as the coronavirus crisis brought German football to a halt back in March and the 29-year-old midfielder has decided he’s keen for a fresh challenge as he nears the twilight years of his career.
