Barcelona have offered Ousmane Dembele to Liverpool this summer, but they want to recoup the hefty transfer fee they paid for the Frenchman.

Dembele joined Barca from Borussia Dortmund in 2017 for around £93m up front, and a possible further £36m in add-ons.

While the 22-year-old has impressed in patches, he has not quite lived up to the huge billing that surrounded his move to the Nou Camp.

The Catalans are now willing to move him on and have offered him to Liverpool, according to a report from Team Talk, which suggests Barca would expect the initial fee they paid, of around £93m.

While Liverpool are not targeting a replacement for any of their front three, they are looking for more competition and the availability of Dembele could tempt them into making the huge signing.

However, it may be hard to convince Dembele to make the switch without the guarantee of first-team football, as Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino all remain first choice at Anfield.

The Reds may well pass up on the offer and Barca could tout Dembele’s services elsewhere, but Anfield is thought to be one of his preferred destinations.
