Liverpool have enquired about a late move for Fluminense forward Joao Pedro, reports say.

Watford are set to sign the 17-year-old attacker in a £2million deal, with Pedro expected to join the Hornets in January 2020.

But the Daily Mail claim there is still hope a Premier League club could launch a hijack of the coveted forward.

While Manchester United are also interested, Liverpool watched the youngster in action on Thursday night.

Reds scout Dassler Marques witnessed Pedro score a hat-trick for Fluminense in their 4-1 win over Atletico Nacional, taking his tally to seven goals in ten appearances.

Should Pedro’s switch to Vicarage Road fall through, there is a clause in his contract with Watford that he can join another side, as long as the English club are paid £20m by his new team.

Liverpool would therefore have to fork out a significant fee for the untested teenager.
