Tottenham fear Liverpool will hijack their move for Adrien Rabiot after Spurs narrowly missed out on signing the midfielder in January, reports say.

Rabiot was on the verge of a switch to Tottenham from Paris Saint-Germain before his father died and his transfer plans took a backseat.

Liverpool, Barcelona and Arsenal have been linked with Rabiot, while Manchester United are the latest Premier League side thought to be considering a move.

The Mirror claim Spurs believe they are in danger of losing Rabiot to either Liverpool or Barcelona in the summer, despite coming so close to signing him in a £20million deal last month.

Rabiot is thought to favour a move to Liverpool over Tottenham, and could be convinced to snub Spurs so he can work under Jurgen Klopp.

PSG are furious to have missed out on a fee for Rabiot in January as the 23-year-old will now run down his contract and leave a free agent at the end of the season.

Rabiot has even been suspended by PSG for refusing to sign a new deal and has not played since December for the French side.

Tottenham see Rabiot as a major target and were keen to end their transfer drought by signing the Frenchman.

Spurs have not added any new additions to their squad in the last two transfer windows and expect a battle for Rabiot at the end of the season.
