Liverpool have reportedly been taken aback by claims Jurgen Klopp has been in touch with Adrien Rabiot regarding a potential move to Anfield.

Liverpool enjoyed a strong summer transfer window with £65m goalkeeper Alisson headlining an impressive list of high-profile arrivals.

But they are not resting on their laurels, with widespread speculation suggesting Rabiot is now in the sights of Jurgen Klopp.

The France international is out of contract at Paris Saint-Germain next summer so could sign an agreement with Liverpool in January.

The Reds have supposedly been in touch with Rabiot’s mother, who also acts as the midfielder’s representative, concerning a switch.

While it has been claimed Klopp has spoken to the 23-year-old on the phone to discuss linking up with his Liverpool squad.

However, the Liverpool Echo report Liverpool are "baffled" by the rumours.

Klopp is said to have had no talks with Rabiot in private or otherwise.

Klopp is thought to be happy with his midfield options, which he bolstered this summer.
