Liverpool will still have the chance to snap up Nabil Fekir in January, with Lyon confident the playmaker is staying put.

Fekir emerged as one of Liverpool’s top targets towards the end of last season with Jurgen Klopp eager to add another dimension to his attack.

Liverpool have been tipped to reignite their interest in Fekir in the future, with Chelsea potentially in for his signature too.

Express Sport understands Chelsea held talks with Lyon concerning Fekir after last Tuesday’s friendly between the sides at Stamford Bridge.

Lyon chief Jean-Michel Aulas has been vocal when asked about the future of his club’s captain this summer.

And he’s now suggested Liverpool and Chelsea will have the chance to swoop for Fekir when the transfer window reopens in January.

"We will have to wait until the end of the transfer window," said Aulas on Sunday.

"But he will stay, at 95 per cent.
