Chelsea have made the first move in the race to sign Borussia Dortmund’s Christian Pulisic according to reports.

The Blues are looking to beat Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool - who have long-term interest in the teenager having made an £11million bid two years ago - to the American attacking midfielder.

And the Daily Mirror  say that Chelsea have officially opened talks with Pulisic - who is likely to cost around £65m.

The 19-year-old’s current contract at Dortmund expires in 2020 and it is claimed that the Bundesliga club will have to sell their prized asset to earn a maximum profit.

Pulisic has established himself as one of the hottest young talents in Europe with Dortmund and laid on five goals and seven assists in all competitions last season.

The Mirror claim Chelsea are desperate to improve their squad and want to take advantage of Pulisic’s stalled contract talks with Dortmund.
