Liverpool have cooled their interest in Roma goalkeeper Alisson.

Reports in Italy claim that Jurgen Klopp had revived the club's bid for the £58million-rated Brazilian No.1.

But Mirror Football understands there has been no contact at all with either the player or club from Liverpool.

Alisson emerged as target towards the back end of last season when he impressed during Liverpool's Champions League victory over the Italian side.

And they were keen on making a deal happen earlier in the window.

Mirror Football's Merseyside reporter David Maddock tweeted today: "Widespread reports in Italy on €65m Liverpool bid for Alisson...completely wrong (unfortunately). NO bid from LFC, no contact at all with player or club. No plans to bid at this stage either.

"Was some interest earlier in window, but cooled and not revived."
