Liverpool have been warned they're nowhere near to signing Roma goalkeeper Alisson by the club's director of football.

Alisson is believed to be open to a move to the Premier League but he has three years to run on his deal in the Italian capital, putting Roma in a strong position.

And Monchi says three elements need to fall into place for the club to sell Alisson but the club chief stressed the Serie A giants do not want to let him go.

‘In order for a player to leave, there have to be three elements in place – an offer, a yes from the club and from the player.

‘As of today, we have nothing of the sort.

‘We are happy to keep him. Transfer rumours are normal at this stage.’

Liverpool kicked off their summer spending yesterday when they announced a shock deal for Monaco midfielder Fabinho.

The Brazilian signed a five-year deal at Anfield after the Reds agreed a £44m deal with the Ligue 1 giants.
