Lyon are reportedly ready to open talks this week with Liverpool over the transfer of Nabil Fekir.

Fekir is on Reds boss Jurgen Klopp's radar as he looks to bolster his midfield and attacking options this summer.

The France international is expected to leave Lyon this summer and admitted on Sunday there have been discussions with several clubs.

Fekir also distanced himself from suggestions a move to Anfield was imminent, stating: “I'm not close to Liverpool. I will take time to think.”

However, a report in French news outlet L'Equipe on Monday morning has claimed the Reds will hold talks with Lyon in the coming days over a potential £53million move.

Liverpool are ready to spend big this summer, bolstered by more than £70m from their run to the Champions League final and the £142m pocketed from the sale of Philippe Coutinho in January.

Fekir will be in action on Monday evening for France in their warm-up friendly against the Republic of Ireland in Paris.
