Liverpool have reportedly sent a scout to Barcelona to take a closer look at a quartet of talented young players in their B side.

According to Sport, the Premier League giants are ready to raid the Catalan outfit’s famed La Masia academy with four players on their radar.

Chief Spanish and Portuguese scout Kiko Espinar has been sent to watch them according to the report, with Marlon, Nili Perdomo, Marc Cardona and Wilfrid Kaptoum named as the four individuals in question.

Kaptoum is the only one from the quartet to make an appearance for the first team as he featured against Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League last season, while the remaining trio all moved to Barca in the summer.

It’s added that Espinar has already been spotted watching several Barcelona B games in the Segunda B, as evidently Klopp has spotted talent that he likes and wants to add to his long-term vision at Anfield as he continues to show faith in younger players.

Nevertheless, it remains to be seen as to whether or not Liverpool can prise any of the youngsters away from Barca who will undoubtedly be keen to hold onto them if they believe that they’re talented enough to make the grade at the Nou Camp.

The La Liga champions have a long history of producing exceptional talent from within the club with the likes of Xavi, Andres Iniesta and Lionel Messi all coming through the ranks from an early age.

Further, they won’t want to repeat previous mistakes with the likes of Hector Bellerin, Cesc Fabregas and Pepe Reina leaving the club and growing into key individuals elsewhere in Europe.
