Claudio Ranieri is confident defender Ben Chilwell will sign a new deal at Leicester despite continued interest from Liverpool.
The Foxes chief has spoken out following continued speculation that Liverpool will up the ante in their efforts to sign the highly-rated 19-year-old left-back in this summer transfer window.
A £7million offer was rebuffed last month but it's being suggested that a fresh bid will be forthcoming from the Merseysiders, but Ranieri has said that Chilwell is close to penning a new deal to stay at the King Power Stadium.
"He is very close and he will stay with us," Ranieri told the Leicester Mercury.
It remains to be seen if the Premier League champions will be tempted into a sale if a sizeable new bid comes in from Liverpool, but Ranieri is keen to avoid any more departures ahead of their venture into the Champions League especially with N'Golo Kante recently leaving for Chelsea.
