Liverpool are yet to make an offer for Anderlecht midfielder Samuel Bastien, his agent has confirmed.

Bastien spent last season on loan with Italian second tier side Avellino, making 31 appearances and scoring two goals.

His solid performances earned him a call-up to the Belgium U21 squad and the Daily Mail claimed last week that the Reds are keen to sign him.

However, his agent Franklin Mala-Makani has confirmed the Premier League club are yet to make an official offer for Bastien.

Although, he didn't rule out the possibility that the Mereseyside club had made direct contact with Anderlecht's general manager Herman van Holsbeeck.

“Maybe Liverpool talked directly with Anderlecht's general manger, but Benfica also made an official offer," Mala-Makani told website SportWitness.

"We will see because the general manager from Anderlecht comes back from a small vacation and then we will know more this week.

“But for the moment, he said nothing.

"We will talk when it becomes official from Liverpool Football Club. We prefer to talk about an official offer."
