Liverpool are reportedly close to sealing the transfer of Porto attacking midfielder Yacine Brahimi.

The Reds have already got off to a fast start in terms of summer recruitment, bringing in new goalkeeper Loris Karius yesterday.

And it now looks like another major buy could be on the way as the club look ready to pay something close to the £45.7million release clause of Brahimi, according to A Bola.

Liverpool could do with improvements in attack ahead of next season, and may be after Brahimi as an alternative to Bayern Munich’s Mario Gotze, who looks like he may not be heading to Anfield despite recent transfer speculation.

The 26-year-old has 21 goals from midfield in his two seasons in Portugal, and his form has seen him linked with other Premier League clubs in the past.
