Super agent Jorge Mendes is trying to push through a deal for Aymen Abdennour to leave Monaco, according to reports.

French publication L'Equipe claims Mendes, who represents Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo, is so keen he has even found the Ligue 1 club a replacement.

His client Aderlan Santos, currently at Portuguese outfit Braga, could be offered to Monaco in a bid to speed up proceedings.

Liverpool have been linked with Abdennour and the news could come as a boost to them.

Liverpool might also face some competition from Valencia, who are understood to be keen on the Tunisia international as well.

The La Liga giants are looking to bolster their squad after qualifying for the Champions League group stage at the expense of Monaco last night.
